  • 2001 – 2018               Cherry Creek School District

School Nurse at Smoky Hill High School and then Thunder Ridge Middle School.  In addition, Psychiatric Nurse on Mental Health Team for four years at Smoky Hill High School.  Daily nursing clinical care of infants, children, adolescents and adult staff with acute and chronic medical needs; coordinated liaison with families, and community resources, conducted special education assessments, and psychiatric/mental health/medical nursing consultations throughout the school district.  Retired in May of 2018.

  • 1994-2001 Clinical Specialist in Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing

Independent clinical private practice with children, adolescents and families, developed and administered a psychiatric medication clinic in conjunction with a child/adolescent psychiatrist and provided clinical consultation to psychiatric clinicians and school personnel.

  • 1991 – 1994              Bethesda Psychiatric Hospital

Clinical Director of all child, adolescent and adult clinical psychiatric inpatient, outpatient and residential programs at Bethesda Hospital.  Worked in partnership with the CEO and the Medical Director to facilitate excellent clinical care for patients and their families.  Coordinated multidisciplinary teams with strong nursing leadership and clinical systems expertise.

  • 1984-1991 Mount Airy Psychiatric Hospital

Recruited to design, develop, implement and manage a comprehensive child psychiatric program for inpatient, residential and day treatment for children from four to twelve years of age and their families.  Hired and managed a multidisciplinary team of professionals including registered nurses, mental health workers, teachers, occupational therapist, speech/language therapist, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists.  The Child Psychiatric Program was very successful. 

When Mount Airy Hospital closed, negotiated a partnership with Bethesda Psychiatric Hospital to transfer all existing child programs to the Bethesda system.
